A word about hotels in Ireland

The backlog of weddings, birthday celebrations as well as corporate events means that hotels in Ireland are in BIG demand - and this is reflected in the cost of accommodation.

Dublin offers a far greater choice of accommodation to suit all budgets - so we have only listed a few of the available options.  If you are struggling to find anything suitable, contact mrandmrsfrance@gmail.com and Maria who is helping with the logistics will try and help.

Dublin accommodation

BUDGET OPTION:

Trinity College Accommodation

Located in the heart of the city, on-campus housing (student accommodation) at Trinity College is housed in these fabulous historic buildings.

Make sure you request accommodation in the centre of the campus, otherwise you might end up in the more modern developments (nothing wrong with them, they are just a  bit further out of the city).

A minibus will collect from St Stephen's Green to transfer you to the wedding blessing in Enniskerry and the Survivors' BBQ on Sugarloaf Mountain (and bring you back again).

BUDGET OPTION:

AIR BNB

There are loads of short term accommodation rentals on AIR BNB.

Over the years, we have stayed in several apartments as we got to know the area.

The best advice we can offer is to check the distance from St Stephen's Green or make sure the property is near the Dart (overground train) or Luas (tram service).

We were super-impressed by the attention to detail at this hotel.

The rooms are lovely whether or not you opt for a view of St Stephen's Green.  The rate includes full Irish breakfast, wifi for unlimited devices and VAT.

The rate depends on whether you are staying for 1, 2 or 3 nights and includes an early check in and late check out.

The Marriott Shelbourne Hotel looks over St. Stephen’s Green. It is a 5 star hotel with spa, beauty salon, barbershop, health club with a swimming pool.  According to their website there's a genealogy butler too (whatever that is).

For history buffs, the Shelbourne is where Ireland's first Constitution was drafted under the chairmanship of Michael Collins.

The cost is around 470 euros per night which includes breakfast, double occupancy, and early check in at noon, and late check out at 1pm.
